Successful cooperation for cloud computing policy
EUBrasilCloudFORUM Open workshop, 9-10th November 2016, Brussels
09 Nov 2016 to 10 Nov 2016
On 18th March 2016, EUBrasilCloudFORUM hosted a Concertation meeting with all EU-Brazil collaborative projects and initiatives, with the purpose to jointly form a plan of action on the building of future scenarios related to areas that the projects are working on; and involve these projects and initiatives in a very early stage with the shaping of the EUBrasilCloudFORUM Catalogue of EU-BR cloud computing tools & services. As a follow up, more of the researchers and industry stakeholders within in Europe and Brazil we re recruited togather additional information and evidence regarding the hurdles expected in these areas as well as recommendations for further actions either in research or policy. This activity was outlined in a dedicated session held during Workshop on Cloud Networks (WCN) and Cloudscape Brazil in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on 6th - 7th July, 2016.
The inputs received were included in the EUBrasilCloudFORUM project Deliverable D3.1 "Analysis and identification of the gaps and research opportunities related to cloud computing, including security", which highlights three future scenarios with potential priorities for cooperation between Europe and Brazil, identifies drivers for expanding research activities in the two regions and lists gaps and preliminary opportunities where Europe and Brazil can already start working together.
We are now pleased to open the discussion and invite you to our workshop to brainstorm around Cloud Computing topics to be taken into consideration in the future EU-BR collaborative calls. Such topics will be used as input for the research roadmap currently under development, and a summary will be presented on November 10th in the context of the IX Workshop on EU-Brazil Coordinated Calls in the area of ICT between the European Commission and MCTI/RNP.
