Tiago Salmito, RNP – Brazil

"I will bring to EUBrazilCloudFORUM my experience in building and operating the FIBRE testbed, a large-scale testbed facility for future internet research inside RNP’s backbone in partnership with the Brazilian research community. The FIBRE testbed is operational and deployed at eleven institutions (with four more expected in the coming months) and it is free to use by teachers, students and network researchers."

Tiago Salmito received the Doctor degree in Computer Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2013.  Master of Computer Science from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), where he worked to develop projects related to digital video encoding, streaming and digital television. He is a collaborator at the R&D directorate at RNP and a PhD researcher at PUC-Rio. His research interests are in future internet architectures, software defined networks, distributed systems and parallel processing.
