Assistant Professor at the University of Sao Paulo. FIWARE LAB Coordinator at USP, Brazil, an innovation hub in the Future Internet technologies. Situated in EPUSP and federated with other Europe’s FIWARE LABs, FIWARE Lab is an open Platform whose goal is to disseminate Innovation through Startups in order to assess conceptual and application test uses. It promotes events such as lectures and workshops partnered with Universities, companies and Governmental Institutions aiming to promote the Platform within Smart Cities context. He is also the PAD Group (Pervasive Computing & HPC Group) Coordinator.
Professor Kofuji has experience in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with emphasis on Advanced Computer Architectures, acting on the following topics: Pervasive Computing, Wireless Sensor Networks, Smart Grid and Cloud Computing, Parallel Processing, Processor Architecture (SMT, CMP, IMP), Reconfigurable Architecture, Cyber-Physical Embedded Systems, UWB radar applications, Advanced Imaging Systems. He was also the Coordinator at USP of the European FP7 EDOBRA Project;
Currently, he is a member of the following groups: i) CITI, Multidisciplinary Centre for Interactive Technologies, of which he is a founding member; ii) InovaLab@Poli; iii) Institute of Brazil-European Studies, which is dedicated to cross-boundary innovation, especially in Information and Communication Technologies; iv) USP Disasters Studies and Research Centre; v) Member of some ABNT task forces.
His main interest areas are: Pervasive Computing, Wireless Sensor Networks, Smart Grid, Cloud Computing, 5G and Future Internet and Internet of Things with applications in smart cities.
