Fabio Martinelli, IIT-CNR - Italy
Dr. Fabio Martinelli is Senior researcher at IIT-CNR, leader of the cyber security project. He is co-author of about two hundreds scientific papers. His main research interests involve security and privacy in distributed and mobile systems and foundations of security and trust.
He is involved in several Steering Committees of international conferences, workshops, and working groups, like the IFIP WG 11.14 on secure services and software engineering. He acts as manager of R&I projects on information and communication security as FP6-FP7 Aniketos, Coco-Cloud, CAMINO, Connect, Contrail, SESAMO, Consequence, Sensoria, S3MS, GridTrust. Fabio is also the coordinator of the FP7-NoE NESSoS on Engineering Secure Future Internet Services and the H2020 MSCA ITN NeCS (European Network in Cyber Security).Fabio Martinelli promoted and coordinated the ERCIM Security and Trust Management WG (2005-2009) that is still a very active community contributing also to cyber security roadmapping activities.
Currently, Fabio is co-chair of the WG3 on Secure ICT research and innovation of the Network and Information Security – NIS Platform, a public-private cooperation promoted by the European Commission, and has been one of the 5 facilitators of the cPPP on cybersecurity and he served as coordinator of the first edition of the cPPP Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO). Currently, Fabio Martinelli serves as First Director in the board of ECSO. At national level, Fabio Martinelli coordinates the CNR Cyber Security Project and co-leads the technological platform for national security (SERIT, SEcurity Research in Italy).
