How to solve large scale modelling, imaging and inversion geophysical problems: HPC4E project publications and next events

The HPC4E project aims to apply the new exascale HPC techniques to energy industry simulations, customizing them, and going beyond the state-of-the-art in the required HPC exascale simulations for different energy sources: wind energy production and design, efficient combustion systems for biomass-derived fuels (biogas), and exploration geophysics for hydrocarbon reservoirs.

Deliverable D3.1 , available for download, highlights three scenarios with potential priorities for cooperation between Europe and Brazil, identifies drivers for expanding research activities in the two regions and list gaps and preliminary opportunities where Europe and Brazil can already start working together.

Ignacio Blanquer (EUBraBIGSEA coordinator - Spain) on EU-Brazil Cloud Collaboration

Universities in Brazil and Europe are benefitting from collaborating with each other in the area of Cloud Computing and Big Data Analysis. The Universitat Politècnica de València is just one example, thanks to the work of Professor Ignacio Blanquer, who is an associate professor there.
